2018年下半年，中港股市因為貿易戰而急挫，在貿易戰陰霾持續下，近來又緊接而來的中國政策新聞，以及近期的熱門話題《逃犯條例》新聞，種種不利香港的新聞都足以重挫投資者的士氣。
面對波動市場，投資者必須在堅守原則下靈活應變各種不利投資的環境，適時及早逃生，如降低中港股票的持倉，將損失減到最低。

經濟有周期，股市有周期，這一點大家都明白。可是原本有能力迎難而上，持續創造價值的公司已經少，還要大舉國進民退，什麼都要管，營商環境大幅惡化。雖然投機者要求極低，總之有幾個巴仙波幅夠位炒衍生工具便可以，但投資者才是市場之本，他們不會揸頸就命，可惜連穩定可預測的環境這個相當卑微的標準也無法達得到，自然愈來愈乾塘。
在2018下半年，資深基金經理及作為豐盛金融董事的黃國英一早降低中港股票持倉，控制住損失。當2018年尾反彈時，他再進一步減低中港股票持倉的比重，在貿易戰的市況下，他認為四成資金放在中港股票還是太多，當然成為負累，更大問題是由於跌得急勁，於是牽一髮而動全身，影響其他市場的部署，以及短線操作的留放。既然明知自己不會分開各個市場獨立運作，必然會整盤數來睇，便一定要降低港股的影響力來提升表現，否則不斷重蹈覆轍。
黃國英相信中美貿易戰、聯儲局利率政策、歐洲的政治亂局等陰霾，仍然會主導市場氣氛，當有好消息傳出來的時候，股市會慢慢向上爬升;當氣氛轉差，大市就有機會急速回落。在這種市況下，自己的倉位着重攻守兼備，分成防守及進攻兩支團隊，打出 「901 」的戰術。所謂的防守就是買入高息股壓倉，當中包括了強勢板塊的中資電訊以及本地地產股，例如是已持有多年的領展以及新鴻基等等。 至於出擊的板塊依然離不開科技股，尤其是5G慨念股。
在這充滿陰霾的投資環境下，投資者更加要學會調整心態、擴濶眼界，面對逆境亦處之泰然﹔適時不再癡纏，而且真正的投資王道是應該找出可以持續創造價值的公司，而不是左穿右插，不然也敵不過政策大環境，因為無論揀股如何考慮周詳，也不會估到如此這般飛來橫禍。
